Hello everyone! Hope you're all having an amazing Halloween and thought I'd share this quick post with you all so you could see my Halloween nail art. I used Avon's Orange Creamsicle(what a horrible name) and the Model's Own Black Nail Art Pen.

Beauty VS Brains Tag

I've been meaning to do this post forever after seeing it on Helen's blog and I'm only just getting round to doing it now. Oh well, better late than never right?

1. What is your favourite book?

I hate this question! I'm going to go with my top 3 instead, I can't pick one. The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, About A Boy by Nick Hornby and The Catcher In The Rye by JD Salinger.

2. Which mottos do you like saying a lot?

Replace the fear of the unknown with curiosity.
The grass is greener where you water it.
You can never be overdressed or overeducated.
Be the kind of woman who, when her feet hit the floor in the morning, the devil says 'Oh no, she's up'.

3. Which do you prefer: English or maths?

Definitely maths. I've always found maths easier because there is always a concrete answer where as in English there is no wrong answer but it takes so long to get to.

4. Which do you prefer: science or art?

In school I prefer science but I do like to do arty stuff outside of school however I like being able to do my own thing with art and not have to stick to deadlines and design briefs.

5. Name 5 albums/artists that have changed your life.

30 Seconds To Mars- A few years ago I went to a meet up for 30stm fans where I met some of my current best friends. Not only do I owe them one for their great music but for their really awesome fan base.

My Chemical Romance - I started listening to them during my emo phase but I still love them. They'll always have a special place in my heart as I just love their music.

Bowling For Soup- were the first band that I saw live and it was an amazing experience. If you get the chance to see them live and you like their music then you should definitely go see them, they're so chatty and interactive with the crowd that your feel like they're your friends.

Jill Jackson- is the first artist of the 'folk' genre that I started listening to and her music has really changed my taste. I'm now at the conclusion that there is no better sound than someone that really knows their way around an acoustic guitar.

Paloma Faith- I think she's just an amazing role model because she never really seems to care what people think about her and I think that's a good way to see the world.

6. What were your favourite and least favourite subjects at school?

At the moment I'd probably say my favourite subjects are physics and chemistry and my least favourites were  CDT(craft and design technology) and home economics.

7. Who is your favourite celebrity with a brain?

Caitlin Moran, what a woman.

8. What is your nerdy secret?

I have a really good memory for rather insignificant things, like I can remember what most people I know were wearing when I met them and dates of when I saw movies at the cinema for the first time. Sometimes I pretend that I can't remember things like that because it can kind of freak people out.

9. Who are your favourite beauty/fashion gurus that you admire for more than their beauty/fashion sense?

Kathy and Rachel.

10. If you could study anything anywhere what would you study and where?

Pharmacology in Moscow.

11. If your blog wasn't about beauty/fashion what would it be about?

Baking, crafting and books.

12. Name something that you are obsessed with that other people would find nerdy.

Sub-atomic particles. Yup.

13. Name 5 people, excluding friends and family that inspire you.

Peter Benenson
John Green
Caitlin Moran
Paloma Faith
This boy in the year above me that done 6 highers and got band-1 As in all of them. He doesn't count as friends or family as i don't really know him.

14. Who is your intellectual soul mate?

I don't really get this question if I'm honest.

15. Who will you tag?

Everyone reading this!

Guest Post: 5 Top Products

Hi, I'm Vicky and I run a blog called Daily-Hoot. I was absolutely thrilled when Hayley asked me to be a guest post for her, so I couldn't pass up the chance and agreed straight away. I'm not going to lie it took me a while to figure out what I was going to talk to you all about, but with some advice from Hayley herself, I decided to talk about my top 5 favourite products. I have chosen my favourite from these categories, skin care, eyeshadow, mascara, lipstick and nail varnish. So, here we go:

Above it's a photograph of my make up bag, not massive, but big enough to store all my make up in. The bag was £3 from Primark, and has two compartments. One I am using to store my little travel size brushes and the other the rest of my make up. I don't own a lot, but I don't need tons, I only use what works. The rest of my make up is in boxes underneath my bed.

Okay, so the first product I want to talk to you all about is my favourite skin care. This is the Visibly clear: Gentle exfoliating wash. I was recommended this by Jessie who runs http://www.thebodeboutique.com. I have extremely bad skin. I'm starting to realise it isn't because I don't take good care of my skin, I think its more about hormones and bad luck. Anyway, I purchased this at Wilkinsons, for £2, and I have to admit, I fell in love with it straight away. It has little microbeads to help you remove dead skin cells, reduce spots, and cleanse pores. It also removes trapped dirt, excess oil and even makeup. Its also makes your skin feel refreshed without drying it out. This is always a bonus because I have face cream but I don't want to be consisting smothering myself in it because my face wash it causing my skin to be dyhatrated. I totally recommend it to anyway looking for a new face wash. You can buy it in Superdrug, Boots, Wilkinsons and even online.

If you read my blog then you have already seen how much I rave about MUA and especially about the 'Heaven and Earth' palette. I just love how natural the colours are. I really like the browns, the gold and the pale colours. I really enjoy the feel of the eyeshadow, and how long it stays on. I was very impressed with the palette. Before buying anything, I like to have a look around other peoples blogs to see how much they like the product and is it well worth the money. I totally adore this eyeshadow palette. As you can see it's well used and I have used every single shade. You can buy it from Superdrug for £4. Its a great investment ;)

I am a massive fan of No7. Yes, it's more expensive than I like to pay but with No7 you do get what you pay for. I had a lot of vouchers for money off No7, so this is one of the products I got £3 off. So instead of £9, I got it for £6 was was great. Needs two layers but its the best mascara I have ever use, doesn't make my eyes itch because it is hypoallergenic. I need to wear make up that has nothing in it. The brush is slightly thicker than the average mascara which is designed to give you that intense volume like it says on the product. Its doesn't 'clump' together like some mascaras I have tried in the past, I will defiantly be purchasing again.

Now, I recently have purchased my very first MAC lipstick, but I'm going to leave that to talk about on my blog, but I couldn't help but share with you my favourite MUA lipstick. For just £1 this is an incredible lipstick. In fact I love this so much, I had bought myself another one to keep in my bag for work. Its in shade-13 and I'm beyond impressed with it. It stays on really well, even through eating and drinking and its a beautiful colour. I like the design of the tube as well, even though its cheap, I love the way its presented. Its comes in a lot of different shades, so please check them out.

I have already done a post on my blog about my favourite nail varnish, but as this was a favourites post I knew it had to be mentioned. If you haven't read my post, I bought this in American Apparel about a year ago when I purchased my first American Apparel hoody in the same colour. It was pretty much as I paying for my hoody, I saw the nail varnishes to my left and I bought the first colour that caught my eye. This is the colour 'Port'. I like how easy it is to apply, needs about two coats and last for about a week. It was £7 when I bought it but recently checking the website its gone up to £9. Even for £9, I highly recommend it. I just can't get over how beautiful the colour is and its perfect for Autumn.

So there you have it my top 5 favourite products that I own and love. I hope you've enjoyed reading and I haven't bored you too much.

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Review

Hello everyone, I've got a review for you all today. In this post I'm going to be talking about Soap and Glory's Sugar Crush body scrub that was recently featured in my September favourites post. First off I'd like to say that I'm a massive fan of Soap and Glory products, they all smell amazing! This scrub is no exception, it has a very lovely, sweet lime scent.  I open this to smell it every time I'm in the shower, regardless of whether I'm going to be using it or not.

This is a very harsh scrub so I wouldn't really recommend this if you have very easily irritated skin. It contains sea salt, brown sugar and macadamia grains as exfoliatants so there is a good mixture of sizes of particles. This leaves my skin feeling really smooth but it can dry my skin out a little so I recommend using it in conjunction with a body butter. I use this twice a week, I did try to use it more often than this but it is quite harsh so less is more when it comes to using it.

Now onto value for money. This scrub is £8.00 for 300ml but I found that there wasn't really that much product actually in the tub and that there could have been a lot more. This scrub also disappears quicker than I was expecting it to. I've had it for just under a month and it's only got a third left! I'm a bit disappointed with it in that aspect as I was expecting it to last a bit longer than that considering I've only been using it twice a week.

Despite the fact that it's not the best value for money this is a really great scrub that I thoroughly recommend if you are looking for something to really get rid of dry/dead skin. I don't think I'll be repurchasing this any time soon as I want to try out a few more body scrubs but I can see this being a product that I'll come back to using.

What's your favourite Soap and Glory scrub?

Week In Photos #27

New yoghurt love / £1 mix / Guitar
Home made sausage rolls / Rings / Straight hair!
Movies / Wrapping presents / Top I made

Hello everyone. This has been such a busy week. It's only 5 days now 'til I fly out to Lanzarote so I've been getting ready for that put also trying to do as much studying as possible.

The highlight of my week was probably Thursday. It was the first book club meeting of the year at lunch time(first book is Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe) and Stuart and I went on a date. We went to see The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. I thought it was actually really good(but no where near as good as the book) and he didn't really like it(but he sucks). Then we went to Nandos where some little kids that were waiting for takeaways started talking to us for ages, they were so cute!

I'm absolutely dreading next week as I'm going to be soooooo busy and I have my first maths NAB. But then on Friday I get to fly out to somewhere sunny and just chill out and read lots, although I will miss wifi. I'm planning on doing some duty free shopping. What is your favourite autumn perfume and MAC blush for pale skin?

LUSH's Breath Of Fresh Air Toner Water Review

Toner is something that was never really a part of my skincare routine until about two months ago when I started using LUSH's Breath Of Fresh Air.  Now? I can't believe what I was doing before! This has greatly improved the condition of my skin. I have quite oily but not spot prone skin. This contains sea salt and sea weed which makes it very calming. My skin always feels so clean and refreshed after using this. It smells like the ocean and it is amazingly refreshing if you keep it in the fridge(seriously, try it). I've been using this every morning and night for about 2 months and I'm about half way through the bottle.

You can either spray this directly onto your face or spray it onto cotton pads first. I prefer to spray it onto cotton pads as when I tried to spray it straight onto my face most of it went up my nose or in my mouth. I find about 4-6 sprays is enough. I bought the small bottle at £3.95 but I'll definitely be purchasing the 200g bottle for £7.25. Like all LUSH skincare it's a bit over priced but I'm willing to spend a lot on products that work for me. Would definitely recommend this to those with oily skin. If you have oily skin, what is your favourite cleanser from LUSH? I want to try one of those next.

Things That Make Me Happy #2

Hello everyone! I'm glad to say that a lot of people loved last week's post so I'm going to make these a regular thing, even when I'm done with the 100 I need for my 101 Things In 1001 Days goal I think I'll continue to share the positivity with you all.

1. These owl cookies are almost too cute to eat(almost being the main word here). Will definitely have to make these sometime during autumn.

Source

2. This really cool DIY for a coloured pencil necklace, how awesome! I might try and  make a few for Christmas presents.

Source

3. How cool is this doormat? I don't have an iPhone but I'd love to have this mat(although I'd rather have the phone).

Source

4.How beautiful are these victory rolls? I'd love to be able to style my hair like that, darn fringe!

Source

5. This picture perfectly sums up me whilst reading any type of fantasy novel, especially the Harry Potter books!

Source

6. These painted pumpkins, they'd make great decorations for a party.

Source

7. This song is pretty crude but if you have the right sort of humour then it is absolutely hilarious!

8. Body exfoliating is something I've really been getting into as of late so I really want to try making my own with this DIY.

Source

9.  These smores bars. I've never actually had a smore, we are so deprived in the UK :') but I'd love to make these.

Source

10. This is the best Halloween costume I have seen so far, hands down.

September Favourites

Hello everyone, can you believe it's October already? I can't wait to go on holiday and for Halloween, so far October is looking out to be an awesome month. I don't have many beauty favourites this month as I don't think I've really tried anything new that's really excited me this month. I also won't be doing an empties post for this month as I've only used up 3 things(2 of which are face wipes).

Soap & Glory's Sugar Crush is an absolutely lovely body scrub. It smells absolutely amazing, very refreshing and has a very strong lime scent. This scrub is pretty harsh, it has quite large bits of salt in it, so I wouldn't really recommend it to those with dry skin but it works well with my skin. I've been using this two times a week in the shower for most of September and love it.

Lacoste's Touch Of Pink perfume has been a staple for me since the start of summer. This is a very light, sweet perfume(perfect for summer!). I've been trying to use this up as I want to buy a nice perfume duty free when I go on holiday but I'm actually quite sad now that I don't have much left. A lovely cheap and cheerful summer perfume.

The Body Shop's Blueberry Body Butter is designed for dry skin and therefore is super moisturising. It's great for the colder months and I've loved using it along with the aforementioned scrub. This also smells amazing, just like fresh blueberries. I also picked this up at the start of the year in the sale for £5, bargain!

Blogs Of The Month

Beautifully Superfluous is a lovely blog run by a lovely girl called Helen. I found Helen's blog through the bloggers chat on twitter and since then I've loved reading her blog and her tweets. She has a great mix of beauty and lifestyle posts and she recently posted a mouthwatering macaroon recipe. You can find Helen's blog here.

Helen Rambles On is another lovely blog ran by a lovely girl called Helen. I also found Helen's blog through the bloggers chat(it's where I've found like 75% of the blogs I follow). She posts a lot of great beauty reviews and I absolutely hate her for reviewing one of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes beause I want one so badly now! You can read Helen's blog here.
