Christmas eve breakfast / Rudolph for work / Workmate / Hanging stocking on the tank
Beauty presents / New slippers / Onsie / HP tshirt
New Docs / Skerryvore CD / Gig aftermath / Lush bath

Hello everyone, welcome to my last week in photos of 2012! This has been the best year yet! This week has been mainly about Christmas but on Friday night I went to see Skerryvore at Howden Park Centre. Skerryvore are a traditional Scottish band, complete with bagpipes! I'd never listened to them before and I am now converted, especially since the fiddler and the accordionist(?!) were very very sexy.

Lush Christmas Eve Bubble Bar Review

Monday, 24 December 2012

This is one of my favourite Lush products and I thought it would be very fitting to review it today! I didn't actually use it today, I used it on Friday night to relax before the pre-Christmas weekend at work began but hey ho.

This smells of ylang ylang and jasmine, one hell of a relaxing cocktail. I find with most of the Lush Christmas range the scent is either really sweet or really spicy and this doesn't fit into either of those two categories. I think it's nice to have something a little bit more exclusive and yet still nice and comforting. This would be a good present for someone that sometimes finds Lush scents a bit too much. I used the whole bar and it made a load of bubbles although you could have easily used half the bar and still be satisfied with the result. This was £2.95 which I think is pretty decent value for money.

One thing I must comment on though is that last year the little yellow moon was encased in the blue bit. This meant that the water went a lovely rich blue colour. Now there's a lot more yellow and the water goes a funny pea green colour. It's not a major complaint I just think the composition of it last year was a lot nicer.

Best card ever for Stuart / Dolan inspired card / Getting my soup going
My friends rock / Give away prizes / Frozen Ribena

Hello everyone, hope you've all had a good week. My week has been pretty good, it was the last week of term so I didn't really have to do much at school which was nice. Stuart and I were planning to go to Winter Wonderland in Edinburgh on Thursday but it was raining pretty heavily so we decided on a night in instead. That was pretty much it apart from my new headteacher's 'Christmas Reflection Service'(a load of total bullshit).

One of the highlights of my week was finding out that I'd won Amy's Christmas giveaway! I won Lush's Melting Snowman(read a review here) which is one of my favourites and a Topshop nail polish in Gem which I was super excited for as I've never had a glitter nail polish or anything from Topshop's make up range. Thank you Amy! Although when the parcel came there was so much sellotape on it it took me ages to unwrap it!

Hope you have a great Christmas!

An Evening In Glasgow

Saturday, 22 December 2012

Last Friday I headed through to Glasgow to meet two other bloggers, Louise and Morag. The journey started off well: I didn't miss my train, I got on for a child on the train and I managed to read lots of my book on the journey. Then I got to the station and Louise and I realised that we were at different stations. Looking back on it now it was hilarious but at the time I was actually really freaked out, we then arranged to meet at St Enochs, the only place in Glasgow I actually know how to get to. As soon as I met Louise I felt like we had know each other for ages, she's so friendly. We then had a mooch about the shops for a while until Morag was finished work. We were just making our way out of House Of Fraser when we were attached by a ball of fluff, otherwise known as Morag in her bear jacket, which I am very jealous of by the the way!

Then we headed to Wagamamas for dinner. This was the first time that I had ever been and I ordered the chicken 'firecracker'. The presentation was absolutely beautiful but it was just too spicy for me to handle! I managed to eat about half of it but it was actually painful. It was really tasty but too hot, one hell of a paradox! I really enjoyed my meal but I think next time I go I'll order something else, Louise had a katsu curry and that looked delicious so maybe I'll try that next.

Also, instead of getting us Christmas cards Morag bought Louise and I cards that reminded her of us. I got one with cupcakes on it and it comes with a recipe on the inside. It was so thoughtful, thank you Morag!

Overall, I had an amazing day and I'm so glad that I got to meet Louise and Morag!

Finally finished The Shining / Cinnamon stars / Best graphic novel
Wagamamas / 'Christmas' card from Morag / Train reading
American sweet package / New fish

This has been a bit of an up and down week for me. I had an appointment on Wednesday at a hospital to have a look at my back, I was told by a chiropractor in March that there was a slight curve to my spine. I basically got told that there is nothing wrong with my back. Which obviously puts me in a very awkward situation as I've been paying for 'alignment' for 10 months now. I also don't really know what was causing my pain now as well, I don't know if I'll ever get an answer. But afterwards my mum took me to the German market and bought me cinnamon stars to cheer me up.

On Friday I went to meet Morag and Louise in Glasgow. It was an amazing day and I lost my Wagamamas virginity. Don't want to say too much about it though as I have a whole post planned about it. And then when I got home my package from an American pen pal had came, can't wait to try everything.

And last night a really good friend of mine had a party, it was an amazing night.

Hilarious hat / Finished The Casual Vacancy
Gingerbread cupcake / My little tree

Hello everyone! Sorry I don't have many photos this week but I haven't really done much. I've pretty much been revising all week and trying to sort everything out for Christmas. I finally finished reading The Casual Vacancy, I didn't really like it that much when I started it but by the time I got to the end I was really enjoying it. We also got round to putting up the Christmas tree, I have this mini one in my room, how cute! I've also nearly finished my Christmas shopping, I just need to get my dad's, something for Stuart's parents, my co-workers and the final piece of Stuart's.

Lush Cinders Bath Bomb Review

Saturday, 8 December 2012

I used Cinders last year for the first time after picking it up in the 50% off sale after Christmas and absolutely loved it. I was so excited about the Christmas collection this year purely because of this. It took me a while to get round the buying it as I had a lot of Christmas shopping to do but when I was in Edinburgh last weekend I decided that seeing as I had nearly finished all my shopping I deserved to treat myself!

The thing that mainly attracted me to this bath bomb is the scent. This smells so warm, fruity and spicy. To me this is just Christmas in a bath bomb. Unfortunately I think they've changed this product since last year. It just didn't seem to be as strong after it dissolved in the bath and the colour was different as well. Last year this made your bath look like really dehydrated pee. This year it still looked like pee but a bit more hydrated.  Not the most pleasant description but the most accurate.

However, despite this I still love it. The smell is still the same even if it's not as strong and it has popping candy in it which makes it really fun to use. At £2.25 it's one of the cheaper bath bombs and therefore would make a great stocking stuffer. As I've said this is part of the limited edition Christmas range so you should pick one up whilst you can!

Super bright fish at work / 1 year anniversary with Stuart / Officially panda hat season
My blind broke on me! / My first ever £50 note / Friends
Winter Wonderland from the ferris wheel / Fireworks from the ferris wheel
Group photo / Movember / Advent Calander

This has probably been the best week I've had in a very long time. On Tuesday it was my first year anniversary with Stuart which was very crazy to think about. We were going to go out for dinner but we couldn't agree on a restaurant so we decided to stay in instead. We ordered dominoes(hooray for two for Tuesdays) and watched Grey's Anatomy. I actually think I enjoyed myself more than I would have if we'd gone out, I really just prefer a night in to be honest.

It's also been super cold this week! At my school when the 4th year prelims are on the corridor that connects the two halves of the school is shut so it's a complete and utter pain in the butt that the day they started was the first day of heavy frost. I'm actually really afraid of ice after I had a bad fall about two years ago so I've been very nervous all of this week but I have been enjoying the nice frosty scenery.

On Friday a few friends and I headed to Edinburgh for some Christmas shopping and to visit Winter Wonderland. It was an amazing day. We first went shopping and I got some really nice presents for people(and for myself). I also ran into Georgia from Aushnakilops on YouTube and I said hello to her and we got chatting and it was really cool. Then we headed to Pizza Hut(second pizza in one week, no cares given) and then onto Winter Wonderland. It was raining pretty heavily but that didn't stop us from having a great time. We decided to go on the ferris wheel and as soon as it started the fireworks started going off at Edinburgh castle! It was perfect timing and absolutely beautiful, it made the day.
