Cinders / Cute biscuits / Pancake day
Valentines day
Pasta / Strawberry and balsamic vinegar pizza / Illustration
Divergent / Failing to put rollers in / New perfume

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've done one of these posts but now I have lots of new things to tell you. I've gotten all of my prelim results back this week, I got an A in chemistry, human biology and phsyics and a B in English. I'm not going to lie I am a little bit gutted about the B, considering I was four marks off an A but I guess I'll just have to work on it and hopefully I'll improve before the final exam.

My mum's been on holiday this week so my gran has been staying with me and I've gotten to try out lots of fun recipes. You may have seen a strawberry and balsamic vinegar pizza in my last Things That Make Me Happy Post, well I tried it out and it was amazing!

You may have noticed that I have a lovely new sidebar image. The amazing Robyn from Robyn Makes Things drew the illustration for me and I'm absolutely in love with it. You really need to go check out her blog. I'm still working on turning it into a blog button and hopefully it should match something this week.

Paloma Faith At The O2 Academy Glasgow

Saturday, 16 February 2013

On the 28th of January I headed to Glasgow with my friend Amy and her mum, Alison, to see Paloma Faith. Amy and I had already seen her once at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange in 2010 and after hearing us go on about how amazing she was Alison wanted to come too so as soon as we saw she was returning to Scotland we snapped up some tickets. This was the third gig at the O2 Academy I've ever been too and I have to say it's my second favourite venue(the first being the Edinburgh Corn Exchange because it's closer). We arrived at 8 o'clock even though the doors opened at 7. Because we had already seen her we weren't that bothered about getting really close to the start. However, when  we arrived it a wasn't too crowded and we were able to get about five people away from the front.

Within minutes of us starting the support act started. There was only one support act which was nice, I do think people need the chance to get out there but at the end of the day it's not who I paid to see, and it was the lovely Josephine. I hadn't bothered to check out her music before the gig but now I am obsessed, her voice is absolutely amazing and her guitar skills were seriously epic(anyone who plays knows how hard it is to sing and play at the same time). It also has to be said that Amy thought her support guitarist had lovely cheek bones. You can listen to my favourite song, Portrait, here. She's doing a headline tour in April but her only Scotland show is over 18 only, so it'll be a while before I get the chance to see her again. But if you'd be interested in seeing her then check out the rest of the tour dates.

At 9 o'clock Paloma came on, and she doesn't leave any theatrics out. It started with a beautiful monologue played out, there were actually several played throughout the concert and they were very philosophical. She's well known for her eccentric dress sense and she didn't disappoint  a skin tight aqua dress with a slit thigh side and two massive jewelled bows. Complete with peacock feathers. She really puts her all into her performances, not only is her voice insane but she dances all over the stage and at one point was even dancing on top of the piano(I was so worried she'd fall).

As for songs she played mostly songs from her second album, Fall To Grace, but she did play a few golden oldies in the middle. She didn't do any covers which was a little disappointing as I loved her cover of Sexy Chick from when I seen her for the first time. When I seen her in 2010 the stage was very extravagant but this time it was more about the music. I really liked this and she said that the first album she released was what people had told her to do to get out there but the second album was what she wanted to do and I get the feeling it's the same way with her tours.

Overall, it was an amazing night and totally worth being very travel sick on the way home. If you ever get the chance to go see her your really should. Also the crowd was a good mix of ages so there wasn't that harassed pushy feeling you sometimes get at gigs where people seem to have no respect for others.

American Candy Haul And Reviews

Tuesday, 12 February 2013

A couple of months ago I posted a photo of the Cadburys Oreo chocolate on tumblr and an American follower messaged me about it. We got chatting about things that we wanted to try and arranged to do a swap. We agreed on a budget of $10(which is about £6-7) and went shopping. My package arrived around mid December and I thought I'd post a review of all the lovely things I received now that I've had the chance to nibble through everything.

Trolli Sour Brite Octopuses - We ate these in my chemistry class and they were really good. Can't quite describe the flavour but they weren't too sour and they looked really cool.

Trolli Peachie O's - I took these into my Chemistry class to share(we do a lot of eating). We all really liked these although it's not the most natural peach flavour.

Trolli Sour Brite Eggs - I honestly really didn't like these all that much. I took them into school and we ate them in my Chemistry class, only a few people actually liked them. They were kind of like jelly beans that had the texture of gummy worms.

Pretzel M&Ms - These were really, really tasty. I think they were probably my favourites out of everything I tried and I loved the sweet and savoury combo.

Candy Corn White Chocolate M&Ms - I didn't like these but that's probably because I'm not a massive fan of white chocolate. Not wanting them do go to waste I gave them to my sister who really liked them.

Peanut Butter M&Ms - I'm not a massive fan of nuts but I did actually really liked these. I shared them with my mum and she really likes peanut butter, she said these are better than the peanut ones we have over here.

Coconut M&Ms - I really liked these. They had the taste of a Bounty bar in the form of an M&M. One of my favourites from the lot.

Jolly Rancher Fruit Chews -  These have the consistency of Hubba Bubba bubble gum but you can actually swallow them. I really liked these, the cherry flavour was my favourite out of the four flavours. I do have the say that the watermelon ones did taste a little too artificial which was a shame.

Snickers - I wasn't a massive fan of this as I don't really like nuts but from what I can tell it was the same as the UK Snickers.

Watermelon Pop Rocks - Like pretty much all popping candies this was really fun to eat. Tasted quite nice as well.

Sour Patch Kids - These are basically little sugar coated jellies shaped like kids. They're supposed to be sour but I didn't think they were that sour, apart from the yellow ones. My favourites were the red and green.

Starburst - Starburst are available in the UK but the American ones are so much better. The flavours are strawberry, cherry, orange and lemon. Remember when UK Starburst used to contain a load of junk but the strawberry ones tasted amazing? The American ones still taste like that.

Strawberry Pop Rocks - Who doesn't love popping candy? The strawberry flavour is really nice but I think there was too much in a packet to eat all at once.

Tropical Pop Rocks - My sister had these and she said they were very nice but didn't taste particularly like 'tropical punch' just fruity in general.

Snow / Pretty chocolate / Domino's / Valentines day coupons / TFIOS Live / Delilah Dust Necklace

This week has been pretty darn amazing. I had my chemistry prelim on Tuesday and my physics prelim on Wednesday, I think they went quite well. I'm quite nervous to go back to school and get my results back for everything but I am fairly confident. I had Thursday and Friday off because study leave was on so I got the chance to just chill out and relax. If you follow me on twitter then you'll know that I've been mega craving a Domino's all week. On Thursday I finally did it. Chicken and pineapple on sun dried tomato and garlic sauce with a side of garlic bread. Amazing.

On Friday night I went to see John and Hank Green at TFIOS Live. It was absolutely amazing! We were fourth row, Hank took a song request from me and we got to meet them at the signing. I don't want to go into too much detail because I'm planning to do a full blog post on it but it was one of the best nights of my life. I went with Stuart, my friend Elen and her friend Niall. I haven't seen Elen since before Christmas so I got my birthday and Christmas presents from her. She bought me the lovely infinity necklace from Delilah Dust and earrings from Annarack. They're so nice!

Snow / Massive fish at work / Cried reading TFIOS / Henna
Birthday party / Rereading Heart Of Darkness for my English prelim / Favourite chocolate
500 Followers / Idiots / OOTD / BACON

Hello everyone, it's been far too long since my last week in photos post. So much has happened since I last gave a weekly update, I turned 16, had a party, started my prelims, reached 500 followers, celebrated my 1 year blogging anniversary and much more. I'm so sorry I have't been doing these posts. The first Sunday I missed out was my birthday so I was too busy and then the next Sunday I was cramming for a test. But now I'm back and hopefully won't be falling too far from the path again.

This week saw the start of my prelims(yikes) I had English and human biology on the same day. I ended up covering about 18 sides of A4 paper so my hand was really sore. Luckily I had an hour gap between the two in which my friend and I shared a box of 20 chicken nuggets. They were beautiful. In fact I'm craving more now! Next week I have chemisty and physics and then I'm pretty much done because the maths one isn't until March. Wish me luck!

January Favourites

Saturday, 2 February 2013
I can't believe that the first month of 2013 is over already, it seems to have gone quick. I always think January is a good month for favourites post because everyone has lots of lovely new things to talk about from Christmas(January is also my birthday month and therefore the best). Despite that I'm quite exited for February, after my prelims I get four whole days off(!!!) and I'm going to see John and Hank Green at the Royal Glasgow Concert Hall! What are you looking forward to in February?

Soap & Glory The Breakfast Scrub - This is an absolutely gorgeous scrub and it smells amazing. You can read my full review of this here.

Essie Nail Polish in Chinchilly - This is the first polish I've ever tried from Essie and I really like it. They apply really well and last quite a while without chipping. This colour is a lovely purpley-brown and it's fast became my favourite nude. You can see this swatched in one of my outfit posts here.

Topshop Nail Polish in Gem - I'd never actually tried a glitter nail polish before this and now I'm converted. It's really lovely, the bits of glitter vary in size and it creates a really lovely effect. It's also not really that hard to get off, I've heard horror stories about removing glitter but this only took a couple of minutes. You can see this swatched in one of my NOTD posts here.

Beyonce Heat Perfume - Celebrity perfumes have a bit of a bad reputation but this is one of the nicest perfumes I've ever had. It's what I'd describe as a 'woody' perfume, it makes me feel so grown up and sexy when I wear it. I got this for Christmas in 2011 and I was so excited for winter to come around again so I could wear it.

Avon Advanced Techniques Paddle Brush - My sister uses this brush and I was always borrowing it as I found it brushed my tangles out well and now I finally have my own. I think paddle brushes are great if you have longer, tangle prone hair.

I love Alex's blog, Bambella. She has the most amazing style, her outfit posts are just perfect. I love Alex's writing style and she also makes YouTube videos that are really good. I recently watched her Boyfriend Tag video that was absolutely hilarious

I discovered Catherine's blog, Lady Liquor Vintage, around the start of January and it's already a firm favourite of mine. I love the reviews, they're always so well written and informative. I also really love the cute crocheted background.
