Review: Lush's Cynthia Sylvia Stout Shampoo

I picked up a small bottle of this shampoo in the Lush sale after Christmas because it was half price at £2.20. I hadn't even heard of it before or read any reviews on it but I've heard good things about beer shampoos so I decided to just pick it up anyway. I went home and searched for some reviews and they were all terrible! I was just sitting there like 'omg I've just wasted my money on something that's going to make my hair even greasier'. This kind of put me off using it but I finally bit the the bullet and started using it, I was honestly so impressed!

First off, this actually smells really nice on your hair, it smells really beer-y and lemon-y(yes they are actual adjectives) in the bottle but once you've washed it out your hair you can only smell the lemons and it's really nice and refreshing. All the reviews I read said that this makes your hair feel oily but in all honesty I found it actually kind of dried my hair out. But I don't mean dried it out in a bad way, I mean it make it feel really clean and I was able to go longer without washing my hair than usual. I was so, so impressed! I've been using this for about two weeks and I'm only halfway trough the bottle.

Now onto the bad, I'm not a massive fan of spending lots of money on shampoos and I normally don't use shampoos that cost more than £1-2. This bottle is normally £4.40, the 250g bottle is £8.75 and the 500g bottle is £14.20?! Unfortunately I don't think I'll have another bottle unless someone buys me one as a present(but who buys someone shampoo as a present?) which is a shame because I really liked it but I guess it was nice to find such a nice product. I'm definitely going to be on the hunt for a cheaper beer shampoo alternative.
