Money Supermarket's Big Night In

I'm not much of a night owl. I go to bed between 10 and 11 and that doesn't really change if it's the weekend. Without sleep I get very grumpy and generally not very nice to be around. So I much prefer to have a night in than a night out, do you know how much of a werido you look when you leave a house party quite early? Like a very big weirdo. Especially as I work on Saturdays and Sundays, when I get home I just want to chill out and relax, not rush about getting ready. So when I was offered £50 from Money Supermarket to participate in their Big Night In competition I was really excited. The idea is that everyone hosts a night in for £50 and then one lucky winner will get £500. By no means do I think you need £50 to spend on a night in, you can do it for next to nothing but spending a little money on yourself can be nice.

I had lots of ideas: come dine with me, a house party, movie night, old board game night. Then I realised. Near enough all of my friends and my boyfriend are on holiday at the moment. Poor Hayley is all alone. Not to be deterred, I decided that I'd have a nice relaxing night in by myself? Who needs friends?Me. Also apologies for some of the photographs, night time is not the ideal photo taking time.

I decided I'd start the night off by ordering myself a Domino's.  I wouldn't normally spend that much on some pizza, but as I had the extra cash I was definitely going to treat myself. Domino's pizza is my favourite pizza, but I can't afford to have it often.

Being the great sister that I am, I took advantage of their buy one get one free and got my sister a pizza too, I had to go to collect it but the depot is only about a 5 minute drive from my house.

I know it sounds like such a horrible combination but I love chicken and pineapple on pizzas. It's so good. I'd prefer banana but that wasn't an option. I settled down and then dug in. It was so good! I couldn't finish it, lunch tomorrow?

And washed down with a bottle of strawberry and lime Kopparberg.

Silly me decided to have my night in on a really hot day, so I cooled myself down with a Refreshers ice lolly whilst commenting on some blogs.

I decided I'd buy myself some movies. A lot of the time I just watch YouTube videos, it feels like ages since I've properly sat down and watched something. I ordered Sophie Scholl and The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. I watched Sophie Scholl first. It's a German film about a girl called Sophie Scholl who was part of the White Rose group who distributed anti-Nazi leaflets in her university. I think that films with subtitles hold my attention more as I have to focus. I really enjoyed this film. Julia Jentsch is a really good actress. Plus the man who plays her brother is very attractive! The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is my favourite book and I really like the film as well. Ezra Miller makes an amazing Patrick.

I lit up some tea lights that I got from IKEA and set them along my window sill. I couldn't get a very good photo however as the light from the window was throwing it off.

Whilst watching the films I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure with my new nail polishes. I put Beach Party on my finger nails and I really love it, it's such a bright orange that it practically glows. I put Banana Split on my toes. It's supposed to be scented but I couldn't really smell anything, I have a cold though so it might just be me. I didn't like this ones as much though, it seemed very gloorp and was a a lot harder to work with. I think that might be the scented aspect.

I also applied my new face mask, Cosmetic Warrior from Lush. I'd always stayed away from this one as it contains egg and garlic which I thought was a bit extreme. But my skin has been really playing up recently so I thought it would be strong enough to sort it out. I really liked the way it made my skin feel and it smelt predominantly of tea tree and not garlic!

And after that I snuggled up in bed and read my new book, Amy & Roger's Epic Detour. I picked this out as I'd heard good things about it and it sounded like a very easy read. I didn't get much read because I was very tired but I did like what I did read!

So how much did my big night in cost me?

Amazon(Book, DVDs and Delivery) - £20.87
Lush - £5.95
Dominoes - £12.49
Boots(Nail polishes) - £7.50
IKEA - £1.50
Total : £48.31

It's a lot for one night, and I did feel a bit guilty spending so much money on myself for one night. But I will get many uses out of everything but the pizza, so I guess it that makes things a little bit better.

How would you spend your night in?
