Review: Stila Convertible Color in Rose

Saturday, 13 July 2013

Hello everyone! You may have seen in my IKEA & Boots haul that I recently purchased myself a Stila Convertible Colour. I've wanted one of these for absolutely ages. Unfortunately my local Boots doesn't stock Stila so when I saw these I freaked out a little bit more than is socially acceptable. I chose Rose, a beautiful pink, although I would happily have taken any of the colours. The Convertible Colors(it feels so weird without the u) are basically cream blushes that can also be used on the lips. I love cream blushes and actually prefer them to powder blushes. These are no exception to that rule. In fact, I'm going to go a head and say this is my new favourite blusher. This applies really smoothly and blends easily to create a nice effect. It can also be built up if you're feeling a lot more daring. Sometimes I feel that pink blushers can make me look sunburnt but I feel I have a lot more control with this and it gives a lovely pop of colour instead. One thing that can be pretty poor about cream blushes is the wear time. However, these are of a harder consistency than most cream blushers and I find that they're much better lasting. I can wear this all day!

And don't get me started on the packaging. The colour of the packaging matches the product, and it's pretty spot on. There's nothing worse than when a swatch isn't true to colour, especially when there aren't testers availble. The packaging feels very sturdy and secure, I would have no worries about carrying this in my hand bag all day. As for using it on the lips, it does create a lovely look but needs to be reapplied more frequently than a lipstick. I'll stick to using it as a blush, I am more than happy using it this way.

The Convertible Colors aren't cheap at £16 but they're very good quality. I also get the feeling that it's going to last for a very long time making it good value for money. I would buy another one! They can be purchased from the Stila website here or the Boots website here.
