Recipe: Mars Bar Cake

Saturday, 2 November 2013
Hello everyone. Today I'm sharing with you a classic family recipe: Mars bar cake. If there's been a party or special occasion in the past 10 years or so, then you can bet someone in my family has made a tray of this for it. It's a very easy recipe and only takes about half an hour at most minus the setting time. They're so gooey, chewy and delicious. I ate about 4 slices straight after cutting it up. Well 3 and a half because I can't say no to Sam's mooching face.

Melt 4 mars bars, 2 tablespoons of golden syrup and 150g of margarine in a pan together. When the mixture is smooth stir in roughly half a packet or rice crispies, I say roughly because you'll know when you've added enough. When all of the rice crispies are covered in the mixture pour into a large pan and level out. Leave to set in the fridge for a couple of hours or overnight. Melt 1 block of cooking chocolate in a glass bowl over bowling water. When fully melted spread over the rice crispies and return to the fridge to set. Once the chocolate has hardened cut into slices(this is the hardest part!) and enjoy!
