My Top 5 Winter Lipsticks

Monday, 16 December 2013
Hello everyone, today I'm doing a little post that I've wanted to do for a while: my top 5 winter lipsticks!

Top 5 Winter Lipsticks

Overall, I'm definitely more of a lipstick girl. I find that lipglosses are just too thick, too sticky and just down right annoying. Especially when it's windy outside. No one can be dealing with your hair dragging half your lipstick across your face. The typical winter lipsticks are the big bold dark ones and I've tried to mix it up a bit and have added in some nude lipsticks as well.

Mac Dubonnet Lipstick Swatch

First up we have Dubonnet by Mac which is the lipstick I'm wearing in the first photo. I would just like to point out that I didn't actually edit any of these photos, I really actually am that pale, damn! Dubonnet was my first ever Mac lipstick and I really like it. It's a beautiful red but it's a little bit darker and has a bit of brown in there as well. I think it's a very 'mature' lipstick and I love to crack it out when it's cold outside. I have a full blog post about this which you can read here.

Mac Brick O La Lipstick Swatch

My go to everyday lipstick at the moment is Brick O La by Mac. I bought this in the summer but I think that its actually a really good colour for winter as well. It's a nice muted pink that lasts very well on the lips. It's a little bit more nude than the classic vamp lip but sometimes you don't always want that. I have a full post about this lipstick which you can read here.

Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle Lip Swatch

I don't even think I should really include this but lets include my all time favourite lipstick. It's a Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle. It's not really winter specific but I just absolutely love this lisptick. I feel the need to keep harping on about it because it's absolutely gorgeous and I never see any other bloggers talking about it! It's the perfect nude lipstick GO GET IT!

No7 Lipstick Mulberry Swatch

Somtimes I'm not always in the mood for something dark so I'm also featuring Mulberry by No7. It's still more of a 'nude' lipstick but it's got a bit of a bright hint. It's a little bit of a pinky-coral so I think it's nice to wear in the winter because it gives you that pop of colour if you've got the winter blues.

And last but not least, Grace by No7, which is an absolute pain to photograph! You'll just have to trust me on this one, it's about 10x nicer looking in person. It's the perfect dark matte for me. It's a gorgeous browny-red and is my go to for the vamp lip.

What are your favourite winter lipsticks?
