Review: Mac Lipstick in Russian Red

Hello everyone. Today I'm reviewing my new favourite lipstick, Russian Red by Mac. I received this as a Christmas present from a few of my friends, they pitched in to get it for me so thank you so much guys! I've wanted this for so long. It's a beautiful matte red. It has blue under tones so it supposedly makes your teeth look whiter which is always a nice touch. I also think it makes me look a bit paler which adds to the 'pale vintage vixen' thing I'm always trying(and failing) to have going for me.

Like all Mac Lipsticks, this has a gorgeous vanilla scent. One of the highlights of using them. Despite it being a matte lipstick it is easy to apply. It does dry your lips a little bit but that can be expected, as long as you apply some lip balm beforehand it isn't really much of a problem. It lasts for a good couple of hours on its own but will require a little bit of a touch up after eating or drinking. It did almost survive a Nandos. Almost. I'd actually feel very confident wearing this to school or work as it doesn't budge!

I've been wearing this so much recently and have gotten a ton of compliments on it. I just think it adds such a nice touch to any make up look and goes with so many outfits. At £15 these babies aren't cheap but lipsticks last absolutely ages. I wouldn't say that Mac lipsticks are things that you need to rush out and buy. But for something classic like a red lip I think they're worth splurging on a bit.
