Review: Crabtree & Evelyn Nail Lacquers

Sunday, 28 September 2014
Hello everyone! These Crabtree & Evelyn nail lacquers* first came into my possession at the Handy Tips event I went to in May. But then I had shellac/calgel on my nails and I've only just gotten my nails back into the condition where I want to be putting nail polish on them again. So it's taken me a while but I'm finally getting around to reviewing them.

To be honest, I'm not really a massive fan of these. I find them to be very thin and you really need to use at least three coats for them to be fully opaque, especially with the red colour. The lilac is called Wisteria and the red is called Apple. They both have a very fine shimmer to them whilst I prefer a solid colour. I found they chipped really quickly as well, even on my toes. Normally when I put nail polish on my toes it barely chips whilst this had chipped badly in just a week. I feel really let down by these as Crabtree & Evelyn are my favourite brand for hand cream, so I expected these to be really nice nail polsihes. They're £6 each which is pretty pricey for one nail polish. You can normally find the Barry M Gelly polishes on 2 for £6 and I'd say they're 10x better. Sorry Crabtree & Evelyn, stick to the hand creams!
