Go Ape!

Wednesday, 3 June 2015

Hello everyone! On Sunday I went to the Go Ape in Aberfoyle with some of my friends and I thought I'd tell you a little bit about it! Its something I've wanted to do for a long time! Its actually on my 101 things in 1001 days list. Which technically ended a while ago but I'm still trying to carry on with as many of the uncompleted goals as possible! I suggested it to a few of my friends recently and they all seemed pretty game. Someone found a code online somewhere for 10% which was really handy! Aberfoyle is in Stirling, we're from Livingston which is about a hour and a half drive away.

So we headed up on Sunday, there was a group of 8 of us so we were split across two cars. Only two people had never been before including me! So I was pretty nervous. If you've never heard of Go Ape, its a tree top adventure place. Basically you get all harnessed up and climb around obstacles and go down zip wires. I've never really been one for heights and rides, I've never gone on any big rollercoasters or anything. But I really wanted to do this to prove to myself that I could! The course consists of 6 sections, each one ending with a zip wire. To get into the course you have to go down a really big one. I was really scared at first but after doing the first zipwire I totally loved it. The scenery was amazing.

The last zipwire was actually massive, over 400 metres long and you were so high up. The start of it was really steep and it meant you went really quickly, I have to admit this freaked me out a little but as soon as you come of the trees and can see the view it makes it totally worth it. I've wanted to go to Go Ape for ages but a YouTuber I love, Brogan, started working at her nearest one recently and that really inspired me to get the trip booked! We all had such a great time, it was a good laugh and I would really recommend it. It is a bit expensive but the experience is definitely worth it!
