Brunch, Edinburgh

Sunday, 19 March 2017
I'm always keen to meet new blogging friends so when Lucy from Fed in Ed asked if I'd like to go and review a brunch with her I jumped at the chance. We went to Brunch on George IV Bridge for a bite to eat and the chance to talk about Edinburgh, uni and of course, food blogging.

We visited at 10am on a Friday morning. It wasn't too busy when we arrived so we were able to grab a window seat (the blogger's dream) but it was quite busy when we left so an early morning meeting was ideal! We sat down to peruse the menu and my eyes were instantly drawn to the pancakes... what can I say? I have quite the sweet tooth. Whilst Lucy opted to go for eggs benedict. We both decided to have some orange juice with our brunch which was served in adorable little mason jars with handles.

My pancakes were so lovely. Three big fluffy, American pancakes with seasonal berries and maple syrup. Sometimes I find that when eating pancakes out there's never enough maple syrup but this dish ticked all the boxes. There was a good amount of berries for the amount of pancakes and the flavours worked really nicely with each other. Other options for the pancake toppings include bacon or banana. The portion size was so big that I couldn't actually finish it so definitely good value for money.

Lucy opted for the eggs benedict with wilted spinach and salmon. The eggs benedict comes as a standard with an English muffin, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Then you can choose up to three toppings from a really wide range of ingredients. Lucy is a big fan of eggs benedict but said that these were really up to scratch and delicious. I've been trying to train myself to like eggs so who knows - maybe I'll come back myself and try this dish for myself.

Brunch can be found at 37-39 George IV Bridge. Their menu cannot yet be read online but check out their Facebook page for more info.
