June Edit

June.

Man, what a month.

It's odd to think that I spent half of this month in the US as now that I'm home, I can't even comprehend being there. Definitely a chapter on my life that I'm more than happy to shut the lid on. And... it feels so good to be back in Scotland.

I started the month with a short trip to Canda. I was there only for a weekend as I wanted to attend a family birthday party. Unfortunately, I didn't take many photos apart from photos of me and my family which for obvious reasons I won't be sharing on the blog. However, I had the best weekend and it came at the perfect time for a break, motivating me to get through the rest of my time in the US.

Watching

This month I've been catching up on Brooklyn Nine-nine. I love it so much. I didn't think I would like it because, to be honest, I don't usually find US sitcoms funny. That being said, it's had me laughing out loud on several occasions and it deals with some important issues too.

And of course, the show that everyone's been talking about LOVE ISLAND. I have no shame when it comes to Love Island, I love watching it. It's just such dead head tv and whilst I have a quiet summer it's something to look forward to. This year I'm really rooting for Dani and Jack, Alex and Georgia. Who are your favourites?

The only movie I've seen this month was Ocean's 8. Which was FANTASTIC. Such a feel good, girl power movie. If you haven't seen it yet, do so ASAP.

Reading

I haven't done too much reading this month as with coming back I'm been really busy and not really feeling like it. However, I read Places I Stopped on the Way Home by Meg Fee which is super popular amongst bloggers at the moment.

Kirsty recently visited Stockholm, I've already visited Sweden but wouldn't have put Stockholm up there on my list of cities to visit, however, I really fancy it now.

I've been following Rosie's blog for years now so I felt a little emotional reading about her wedding.

Congratulations were also in order for Anastasia who has graduated with her Ph.D.!

I also loved Hannah's list of things she learnt about herself in her late twenties.

Twittergate

Unfortunately, I got locked out of my Twitter account. This is due to me being underage when I created my Twitter account and is related to the new GDPR rules. This is causing a lot of problems for a lot of people so they are working on a solution. But for now, the best place to get a hold of me is on Instagram.

What's next?

July is set up to be an awesome but busy month. I'm scheduling this post in advance but at the beginning of the month, I am going to Prague with Becky for a short relaxed trip. I'm really looking forward to it, though I'll be home by the time this post goes live. Then I'm visiting the Orkney Islands as part of a work training thing.

After I return from Orkney, I'm moving into a new flat in Edinburgh and starting a summer research position at my university. I like to keep myself busy!

What have you all been up to lately?

  1. Whaaaat I hadn't heard about these twitter problems that's ridiculous! I hope it gets sorted soon. Sorry to hear that your time in the US wasn't great I've not been reading or writing blogs for a while as I had my own wedding and honeymoon to organise and "do" (what the hell is the right verb for that? Undertake?!) so I'll have to have a catch up and read some back issues. Glad you're at least happy to be home! Xxx
